Rock Out To Rock Of Ages

Being a huge fan of 80's music I was so excited that somebody was doing a show featuring some of my favorite songs of all time. I take that back. When Rock of Ages was first announced in the Summer of 2008 I was intrigued but skeptical. You see jukebox musicals are not really my thing. Although I did love Jersey Boys. I first saw Rock of Ages Off-Broadway in October 2008. Not only was I pleasantly surprised that I liked it so much but if I had to recommend one show to see while your here then this is the one. Now I'll admit if you are the type that loves traditional musical theatre than you might not like it. Maybe I'm wrong. I have an idea. Why don't you check it out and decide for yourself. Who knows? You might even like it. I know I did.

Rock Out To Rock Of Ages

Now I'll be the first to admit that Rock of Ages is not for everybody. Those of you who enjoy a more traditional musical like South Pacific or A Little Night Music probably won't like it. My boss who loves almost everything found it to be a little too campy for his tastes. Well it is. There's no denying that. In my opinion that's what it makes it so much fun and unique. Not only that but I can personally guarantee you there is nothing else like it on Broadway. That's a fact. Now if you love the music of the 80's as much as I do then Rock of Ages is the show for you. What I love most about the show is that besides being a blast is that it is attracting a whole new audience that would probably never go to a Broadway show. Who knows maybe by seeing a show like Rock of Ages they will see that theatre can be fun,and they will come back and see something else in the future. Now that is we need. More people supporting theatre. Without the audience we would not survive. Not only that but I would be out of a job. Now you don't want to see that happen do you?

Rock Of Ages CD Released Today

I cannot wait until my shift at work is over today. No it's not what you think. I love my job. It's just that I am counting the minutes until I can clock out and head over to Best Buy to get my copy of Rock of Ages. The show which was nominated for five Tony Awards including Best Musical is without a doubt one of my favorite shows on Broadway. I've seen it several times and will no doubt see it many more times in the future. But until then I will just enjoy the music of the 80's sung by the talented cast of Rock of Ages. Pick up a copy at a store near you if you get the chance. You will love it.
